I randomly threw a jar of the sliced peaches into my basket one day and was frankly blown away that it didn’t taste like high fructose corn syrup. That’s because it doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup! I know!

Score one for ethanol! Now that corn's a valuable crop again, the excess (and some of the not-excess) aren't being used to make that awful overprocessed crap. I know it's ridiculously optimistic, but here's hoping the use of HFCS dies completely, demand for sugar rises, and the sugar farmers who lost out with NAFTA benefit.

If they do, I'll even get over my objections about corn being a ridiculously inefficient input for ethanol production. Because it's obvious in my mind which is the greater evil.

(See, I told you that internship last summer--forgive the pun--ate my brain.)

And about these pioneer woman fantasies: did you read a lot of Little House as a kid? Oh, wait: stupid question. You grew up in Wisconsin... :p

Thanks for the heads-up and the review! I will add these to my list (linked above) of products which do not contain high-fructose corn syrup.
