Plumeria: A Growth Spurt in Pictures
August 26th, 2007 | View Comments
My boyfriend, he who started this whole plant thing, bought a plumeria cutting while he was in Hawaii at the beginning of the summer. I helped him pot it at the beginning of July and we hoped it would take root.
I unfortunately don’t get to see him or it as often as I would like while I finish up what hopefully is the last year of my PhD, but he often sends me pictures so I can admire its progress.

This is what it looked like a couple weeks after potting. There were already little green shoots and leaf-like things when we put it in the pot, but now they’re noticeably bigger.

One month later, it’s looking more leafy.

In a matter of days, two leaves shoot up and open fully. I think the little guy is successfully rooting!

A few more days later, the leaves are noticeably bigger.

It’s been a little over a week since the last picture, and clearly the plant is flourishing. I’m so excited! I hope it flowers next year.
