Currently On My Desk, #2

Half a box of DayQuil LiquiCaps, the remains of the third box I’ve gone through this week

A box of Sudafed PE

A bottle of Robitussin DM, which is apparently a controlled substance

The second box of Kleenex I’ve gone through this week

A cup of Campbell’s Creamy Mushroom Soup at Hand soup, which is like the best invention ever

I thank my brother for giving me this horrible cold, which has had me laid up for a week. I haven’t been this sick since I was like, ten. I did manage to go to school for three hours yesterday before giving up and going home. It’s a little hard to get anything out of a seminar when I start coughing every three minutes, plus I don’t want to wind up infecting the entire department.

Student Health recommended switching from the DayQuil to the Robitussin/Sudafed combo to better control my symptoms, so we’ll see how that goes. You’d think that after however many decades of being on the market, they’d have found a way to make cough syrup taste better.

It’s not actually that much fun being home sick. Bleh.

Your brother, my dad.

I swear, the best thing about Thanksgiving this year is that it’s over and we got away from the people who share our genes and germs. Sigh.

You’re welcome. Hey- I’m still sick too. I’ve literally been sick for over a month now! Gotta love working with kids. (Besides, I haven’t made through Thanksgiving without being sick for the past five years. Why start now?)

I seriously doubt there is any way at all to encapsulate the taste of guaifenesin and make it taste better….

Sorry to hear about the cold, and watch to make sure it hasn’t changed from a viral infection to a bacterial infection since you’re at the one week infection mark.

Oh yea, necessarily medical disclaimer about my not being a medically licensed doctor and how you should get medical advice from someone who’s gone through med school and passed USMLE and preferably be licensed to practice etc.

Jane :-)

Yeah, I’m prone to developing bronchitis and other fun stuff once I’ve had a cold this long. Sucks.

Also on my desk now: Riiiiiiiiicola! And some generic not-Afrin nasal spray. And Robitussin DM bottle #2, since bottle #1 is almost gone. And the controlled-substance version of Sudafed.
